October Half Term Fun

This October Half Term, visit Ride High Equestrian Centre for plenty of pony-fuelled fun!

With 3 Pony & Activities Camp Days, (including a Hallowe’en themed day), a Led Hack and a Tots’ Pony Hour, there’s lots to choose from for children who are new to horse riding.  If your child is thinking about starting regular riding lessons, then our Learn to Ride & Care session is ideal as it includes an assessment riding lesson, which is required before children can join our group riding lessons.  For our graded riders, we’re heading out on two hacks, there’s an Introduction to Dressage, and Gridwork Jumping lessons. as well as our Horsemastership programme, where we’ll be looking at Colours & Markings.

Activities for everyone:

Tots' Pony Hour

Monday 26 October: 10.00 am – 11.00 am
Age 3 – 6 years | £38

In this fun session for smaller children, we will go out on a Led Hack for half an hour and spend half an hour getting hands-on grooming and decorating the ponies.  In this session children will have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses. 

Children should be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings or pushchairs please). 
This activity is ideal for younger children who would like to try a pony ride and meet our friendly ponies.

Led Hack (led pony ride)

Monday 26 October:  11.15 am – 11.45 am  
Age 3 – 14 years | £33

Meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle Led Hack through Loughton.
This activity is suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to join us for the walk, but please, NO PUSHCHAIRS or siblings walking alongside for safety reasons.

Learn to Ride & Care

Monday 26 October:  2.00 pm – 3.30 pm
Age: 5 – 12 years | £45  

In this session children will enjoy a 30-minute group assessment riding lesson and spend the remaining time learning how to care for the ponies.   Learn to Ride & Care is ideal for children who would like to begin regular riding lessons with us.  

This activity is exclusively for children who are new to horse riding and are currently ungraded.

Pony & Activities Camp

Tuesday 27 October  Wednesday 28 October 

10.00 am – 3.30 pm | Age: 5 – 12 years | £60  

Join us for a Holiday Club with a difference! 

Children will have a full, fun-packed day at the Equestrian Centre – with a range of activities to get them active and making friends.  They’ll also be getting very hands-on with our friendly ponies, learning about grooming, feeding and mucking out, as well as enjoying a pony ride and decorating the ponies with chalks and accessories! 

This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.

Please note, children must be left for this session (parents cannot wait onsite) and children must bring a packed lunch and named water bottle with them.

🎃 Hallowe'en Themed Pony & Activities Camp 🎃

Friday 30 October

10.00 am – 3.30 pm | Age: 5 – 12 years | £65  

👻This October we have a Hallowe’en themed Pony & Activities Camp on Friday 30th:

🦇Activities will have a Hallowe’en theme and every child will enjoy a pony ride along our Trick or Treat Trail. 

🕷️This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.

🎃 Please note, children must be left for this session (parents cannot wait onsite) and children must bring a packed lunch and named water bottle with them.

Hacks

L5 & L6 Hack:  

Sunday 25 October    9.30 am – 10.30 am    L5 – L6    £40

This hack will include walk and trot and canter (ground and weather permitting). This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L5 and over.    All riders must be happy to canter.

L3 (Outdoor) & L4 Hack

Sunday 25 October     10.30 am – 11.30 am  |   L3 (Outdoor) and L4  |  £40 

This hack will include walk, trot and probably a canter (ground and weather permitting).  This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L3 – L4.  All riders must be happy to canter.

Gridwork Jumping Lesson

Thursday 29 October    £45

L3 (Outdoor):   9.30 am – 10.30 am  
L4:  10.30 am – 11.30 am  
L5 / L6:   11.30 am – 12.30 pm

In our Gridwork jumping classes we will be focussing on feeling and counting strides between jumps, whilst maintaining impulsion and energy over fences.  Gridwork helps to improve your consistency and accuracy whilst jumping, which in turn builds confidence when facing a course of jumps.

This activity is exclusively for riders who are graded and as class numbers are limited, please book early to avoid disappointment!

An Introduction to Dressage

Thursday 29 October    £40

L4 – L6:   2.00 pm – 3.00 pm

This activity will cover the basics of dressage, including learning how to ride an Introductory dressage test.  This session is exclusively for riders who are graded.

Horsemastership

Colours & Markings: Friday 30 October   3.30 pm – 4.30 pm  

We’ll be learning how to correctly describe equine colours and markings, and when we might need to use those terms.

Our October Half Term Schedule

(Yellow activities are open to all, blue activities are for current, graded clients only)

Important Information:

Please observe our Site Rules:

  • Please do not come onto site if you feel unwell.
  • Children should wear closed-toe shoes or boots with a small heel as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
  • Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting).
  • All jewellery and body piercing must be removed when riding and doing any handling or ground work on the yard.  Stud earrings with butterflies are acceptable in the ears only.
  • Children must wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding.  Children wearing shorts or skirts will not be allowed to ride.
  • We have a strict 12 stone weight limit – please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
  • If the weather is likely to be wet, please bring a waterproof coat, gloves are also a good idea if it is cold.

How to book:

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro.  Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details. 
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/

2. Register by completing your account details

3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)

4. Login with your email and password details

5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration

6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony

7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button

8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.

Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it. 

Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
