February Half Term Fun!

Whatever the weather, we’ll be running fun activities this February half term, for new and existing riders:  We have a fully covered indoor arena in addition to our outdoor school, so wrap up warm and come and join us!  We’ve activities for children who are new to horse riding, like Led Hacks and Pony Hour, as well as hacks, jumping competitions and dressage sessions for our regular riders and Pony Day which is open to all, as the ridden sessions are split by ability.

Activities for everyone:

Led Hack (led pony ride) – THIS ACTIVITY IS NOW FULLY BOOKED 

Tuesday 14 February  |  10 am – 10.30 am | 10.45 am – 11.15 am | Age 3 – 12 years  |  £30

Meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle Led Hack around the perimeter of the Equestrian Centre. 
This activity is suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to join us for the walk. 

Pony Hour – THIS ACTIVITY IS NOW FULLY BOOKED 

Tuesday 14 February | 2 pm – 3pm | Age 4 – 14 years | £35 
Thursday 16 February | 10 am – 11 am | Age 4 – 14 years | £35 

In this fun session children spend half an hour riding and half an hour getting hands-on on the yard learning more about ponies and pony-care.  This is a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses.  Children may be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings please) or can be left for the session. 
This activity is ideal for beginners. 

Pony Day

Wednesday 15 February | 9.30 am – 3.30 pm | Age 5+ | £90 – THIS SESSION IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
Thursday 16 February | 9.30 am – 3.30 pm | Age 5+ | £90 

Join us for a fun day at the stables!  Children will get hands-on grooming the friendly Ride High ponies, practicing plaiting and adding rainbow colours to their coats, they’ll also help to care for the ponies with age-appropriate hands-on tasks around the yard, with supervision and guidance from our team.  The children will participate in two ridden sessions during the day. Parents must leave children for this activity and will not be able to remain on site.  Children will need to bring a packed lunch with them.
This activity is suitable for beginners and existing riders as groups will be split by ability for the ridden sessions.

Ride & Care

Friday 17 February | 1.30 pm – 3 pm | L1 – L3 (Indoor) | £50

An opportunity for our regular L1 -L3 (indoor) riders to get more hands-on:  Children will help prepare their pony for a riding lesson, have a 45-minute ride and then help to care for the ponies after they are ridden.  This is a great way to gain experience and learn more about tacking up and untacking, improving your skills and knowledge, as well as enjoying a riding lesson.

Jumping
Introduction to Jumping & Competition

Monday 13 February | 10 am – 11 am 
Monday 13 February | 3 pm – 4 pm | L3 (outdoors) | £42

We’ll be practicing the basics of jumping, followed by a small fun competition with rosettes!  

L4 Jumping Competition

Monday 13 February | 11 am – 12 pm | £42 
A fun activity for our L4 riders, with a short practice session, followed by a show jumping competition with rosettes.

L5 Jumping Competition

Monday 13 February | 12 pm – 1pm | £42

A fun jumping session for our L5 riders, with a short practice, followed by a show jumping competition with rosettes.

L6 Jumping Competition

Monday 13 February | 2 pm – 3 pm | £42 

A fun jumping session for our L6 and above riders, with a short practice/warm up followed by a show jumping competition with rosettes.

Please note Body Protectors must be worn for ALL jumping activities.

Hacking 
Walk, Trot Hack

Thursday 16 February | 2 pm – 2.45 pm | L3 Outdoors – L6 | £40 

Join us for a gentle hack exploring the local countryside. 
This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L3 (outdoor) and above.

Walk Trot, Canter Hack

Friday 17 February | 3 pm – 4 pm | L4 – L6 | £45 

We’ll be heading out on an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and possibly canter (ground and weather permitting).  This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L4 – L6. 

Dressage
Dressage Lesson & Test – L5 / L6

Friday 17 February | 9.30 am – 10.30 am | L5/L6 | £50

A short lesson practicing the elements of a dressage test, followed by the opportunity to perform a test with marks and comments awarded.

How to Ride a Dressage Test – L4 & L3 (Outdoors)

Friday 17 February | 11 am – 12 pm | L4 & L3 (Outdoors) | £42 

In this ridden session we will be practicing riding a dressage test, working on improving transitions and accuracy.

How to Ride a Dressage Test – L3 (Outdoors)

Friday 17 February | 12 pm – 1 pm | £42 

In this ridden session we will be learning the basics of riding a dressage test, working on steering, speed and control.

Important Information:

Please observe our Site Rules:

  • Please do not come onto site if you feel unwell.
  • Children should wear closed-toe shoes or boots as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
  • Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting) and we would recommend earrings and jewellery are removed for safety
  • Children must wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding.  Children wearing shorts or skirts will not be allowed to ride.
  • We have a strict 12 stone weight limit – please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
  • If the weather is likely to be wet, please bring a waterproof coat, gloves are also a good idea if it is cold.

How to book:

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro.  Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details. 
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/

2. Register by completing your account details

3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)

4. Login with your email and password details

5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration

6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony

7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button

8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.

Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it. 

Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
