It’s Mental Health Awareness Week from 12 – 18 May, and the focus this year is on communities and how important their support is in maintaining good mental health.
Being part of a safe, positive community is important for our mental health and statistics show that people who are more socially connected to family, friends, or their community, are happier, physically healthier, and live longer, with fewer mental health problems than people who are less connected.
Equestrian yards can be great examples of small, supportive communities with a shared passion for horses, but Ride High Equestrian Centre is also the home of the Ride High charity, a very special community:
At Ride High young people can find respite from their traumas and challenges and enjoy peace and happiness, spending time with our horses, learning new skills and developing a shared interest that binds them together and creates long-lasting friendships.
