February Half Term Fun!

Whatever the weather, join us for fun activities this February half term, for new and existing riders:  We have a fully covered indoor arena in addition to our outdoor school, so wrap up warm and come along!  There’s activities for children who are new to horse riding, like Led Hacks and Pony Hours, as well as Ridden Pony Games and Ride and Care for our regular riders.  We also have 3 Pony & Activities Camp days which are open to all!

Activities for everyone:

Led Hack (led pony ride)

Monday 16 February  |  10 am – 10.30 am  |  10.45 am – 11.15 am   Age 3 – 14 years  |  £33

Meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle Led Hack around the perimeter of the Equestrian Centre.
This activity is suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to join us for the walk, but please, no pushchairs or siblings walking alongside for safety reasons.

Pony Hour

Friday 20 February  2 pm – 3 pm  |  3.15 pm – 4.15 pm  Age 4 – 12 years  |  £38

In this fun session children spend half an hour riding and half an hour getting hands-on on the yard learning more about ponies and pony-care.  This is a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses.  Please wear wellies or boots for this activity as our stable yard has muddy and uneven surfaces and do bring a coat (and gloves if it is cold!)
Children may be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings or pushchairs please) or can be left for the session.
This activity is ideal for beginners.

Pony & Activities Camp

Tuesday 17 February, Wednesday 18 & Thursday 19 February  10 am – 3.30 pm  |   Age 5 – 12 years  |  £60

Join us for a Holiday Club with a difference! 

Children will have a full, fun-packed day at the Equestrian Centre – with a range of activities to get them active and making friends.  They’ll also be getting very hands-on with our friendly ponies, learning about grooming, feeding and mucking out, as well as enjoying a pony ride and decorating the ponies with chalks and accessories! 

This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.

Please note, children must be left for this session (parents cannot wait onsite) and children must bring a packed lunch and named water bottle with them.

Private Lessons

Monday 16 & Friday 17 February

This Half Term we have scheduled 30-minute private lessons in the Indoor and Outdoor schools for one-to-one tuition. These are a great opportunity to work with an instructor on aspects of your riding that you feel less confident about, or just as a special treat!

Ride & Care

Monday 16 February:
L1, L2 & L3 (Indoor) £50

In this 2-hour session children will enjoy a 45-minute group riding lesson and spend the remaining time grooming and caring for the ponies.  This activity is suitable for our riders graded L1 – L3 (Indoor).

Ridden Pony Games

Friday 20 February:
L1 / L2:         9.30 am – 10.30 am | £30
L3 (Indoor): 10.30 am – 11.30 am | £30
L3 (Outdoor) and over: 10.30 am – 11.30 am | £35

Our graded riders are invited to join us for an hour of fun gymkhana games on horseback with rosettes!  Parents are welcome to watch this session or leave children for this activity.

Hacks:

Sunday 22 February:

Walk, Trot Hack: 
9.30 am – 10.30 amL3 and over  £40

Join us for a gentle hour’s hack exploring local bridleways.  This activity is only open to riders graded L3 (Outdoors) and over.

Walk,Trot, Canter Hack: 
10.30 am – 11.30 pm L4 and over  £40

On this hour-long ride we will explore local bridleways and we will probably canter (ground and weather permitting).  This activity is only open to our riders graded L4 and over.

Horse Mastership

Mucking Out: Friday 20 February  12.00 pm – 1.00 pm  £6 / £16

We’ll be getting hands-on mucking out stables and learning about different types of bedding for horses.

Our February Half Term Schedule

(Yellow activities are open to all, blue activities are for current, graded clients only)

Important Information:

Please observe our Site Rules:

  • Please do not come onto site if you feel unwell.
  • Children should wear closed-toe shoes or boots / wellies with a small heel as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces.  Trainers are not suitable for horse riding.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
  • Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting).
  • All jewellery and body piercing must be removed when riding and doing any handling or ground work on the yard.  Stud earrings with butterflies are acceptable in the ears only.
  • Children must wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding.  Children wearing shorts or skirts will not be allowed to ride.
  • We have a strict 12 stone weight limit – please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
  • Please bring a waterproof coat and gloves are a good idea if it is cold.

How to book:

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro.  Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details. 
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/

2. Register by completing your account details

3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)

4. Login with your email and password details

5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration

6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony

7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button

8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.

Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it. 

Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
