This Christmas holiday break, wrap up warm and come and meet our friendly ponies – we’ve lots of fun activities for the holidays and with our Indoor School, activities can continue, whatever the weather!
There are three half-day Pony & Activities Camps as well as Led Hacks and an Indoor Pony Hour that are ideal for children who are new to horse riding, as well as children who have ridden before. There’s also a Christmas Eve Clear Round jumping session and a new Le Trec Practise & Competition for our regular, graded riders! Read on to find out more…

Meet our friendly ponies and join us for a gentle Led Hack through Loughton.
This activity is suitable for beginners and parents are welcome to join us for the walk, but please, NO PUSHCHAIRS or siblings walking alongside for safety reasons.
How to book
Monday 22 December: 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm
Age 3 – 12 years | £38
In this fun session children will spend half an hour riding in our Indoor School and half an hour getting hands-on, on the ground with our ponies, learning more about ponies and pony-care. This is a great opportunity for children to have fun, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses. As this activity will be under-cover, it will run whatever the weather! While the riding and ground activities will be undercover, it is important to dress warmly – coat and gloves are essential! Children may be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings please) or can be left for the session.
This activity is ideal for beginners.
Monday 22 December, Tuesday 23 December & Monday 29 December

Join us for a Holiday Club with a difference!
Children will have a full, fun-packed morning at the Equestrian Centre – with a range of activities to get them active and making friends. They’ll also be getting very hands-on with our friendly ponies, learning about grooming, feeding and mucking out, as well as enjoying a pony ride and decorating the ponies with chalks and festive accessories! All riding and some activities will be outdoors. Children should bring a water bottle and a snack. Waterproof coat, gloves, and warm clothes are essential. Wellies are welcome!
This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.
Please note: Drop off is between 9 and 9.15 am and collection is between 12.00 and 12.15 pm.
Wednesday 24 December
10.00 am – 1.00 pm | L3 Outdoors and over
Our regular riders (Level 3 Outdoors and above) are invited to join us for a fun Show Jumping Clear Round session! We will begin at 10 am with jumps set at 30 cm and heights will go up in 10 cm intervals.
Each round costs £10, this includes a short time to warm up and a round of jumps. Rosettes will be awarded for every clear round.
Each rider can book 2 rounds at the same height or 2 rounds across 2 consecutive heights e.g. a round at 40 cm and at 50 cm. Depending on entry numbers, it may be possible to enter on the day but we would advise pre-booking to ensure you have a place as numbers will be limited.
We will try to accomodate pony requests, but it may not always be possible, although we will make sure the pony is suitable for the rider.
Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available to purchase on the day.

Entries will close on 10 December and must be submitted by email in the first instance to Reception. You can also use this link: Clear Round Entry – please provide the rider’s name, number of rounds, heights and a contact number. After sending your email you will need to contact Reception by telephone or in person to make payment – please leave a message if you get the answerphone. Entries are not confirmed until payment is received. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Why not try something new this Christmas break? Le Trec tests rider navigation skills and the horse’s ability to tackle different terrain and natural obstacles. We will do the obstacle section, which recreates natural hazards you may encounter out hacking, in the arena. All obstacles are optional, but you’ll lose points for missing one. Numbers will be limited for this fun activity, so we advise early booking!
Walk, Trot Hack:
Sunday 28 December:
10.00 am – 11.00 am | L3 and over | £40
Join us for a gentle hour’s hack exploring local bridleways. This activity is only open to riders graded L3 (Outdoors) and over.
Walk,Trot, Canter Hack:
11.00 am – 12.00 pm | L4 and over | £40
On this hour-long ride we will explore local bridleways and we will probably canter (ground and weather permitting). This activity is only open to our riders graded L4 and over.

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro. Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details.
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/
2. Register by completing your account details
3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)
4. Login with your email and password details
5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration
6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony
7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button
8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.
Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it.
Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
