October Half Term

Join us for lots of fun with ponies this October Half Term:
We’ve a range of activities for our existing clients including Show Jumping, Hacks, Practical Pony Ownership + Riding sessions and Prix Caprilli as well as other activities that are open to all, like Pony Hour, Tots’ Pony Hour and Pony & Activities Camp. As Hallowe’en is just around the corner, we also have our ridden Trick or Treat Trail which is ideal for beginners and parents are welcome to walk alongside!

Activities for everyone:

Tots’ Pony Hour

Monday 23 October
10.00 am – 11.00 am | Age: 3 – 6 years | £40

Our Tots’ Pony Hour includes a half-hour lead-rein ride and structured, fun activities on the yard, learning more about ponies and pony-care. This pre-school activity is suitable for children aged between 3 and 6. Groups are small and younger children can be accompanied by 2 adults (no siblings please). Please wear wellies or boots. Hallowe’en Fancy Dress is encouraged for this session – just remember to wear trousers underneath for comfort! This activity is ideal for younger children who would like to try a pony ride and meet our friendly ponies.

Pony Hour

Monday 23 October: 11 am – 12 pm | Age 4 – 12 years | £35
Thursday 26 October: 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm | Age: 4 – 12 years | £35

In this fun session children spend half an hour riding and half an hour getting hands-on on the yard learning more about ponies and pony-care. This is a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses. Children may be accompanied by a maximum of 2 adults (no siblings please) or can be left for the session.
This activity is ideal for beginners.

Ridden Trick or Treat Trail!

Friday 27 October:
10 am – 10.45 am | 11 am – 11.45 am | 12 pm – 12.45 pm | Age 3 – 12 years | £32 – THIS ACTIVITY IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

This October Half Term we’re getting a little spooky with a ridden Trick or Treat Trail!
Children will meet our friendly ponies and enjoy a led pony ride along our tricky Trail with the promise of a treat at the end!  This fun activity is suitable for all children aged 3 – 12, with no experience necessary and parents can walk along with us and take photos if they wish. Hallowe’en costumes are encouraged for this activity, but please ensure children wear trousers underneath any costumes for comfort when riding.
Closed-toe shoes or boots, ideally with a small heel, are also essential. Pre-booking is required as numbers will be strictly limited.

Pony & Activities Camp – THIS ACTIVITY IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

Tuesday 24 October:
9.30 am – 3.30 pm | Age: 5 – 12 years | £55

Join us for a Holiday Club with a difference! Children will have a full, fun-packed day at the Equestrian Centre – with a range of activities to get them active and making friends. They’ll also be getting very hands-on with our friendly ponies, learning about grooming, feeding and mucking out, as well as enjoying a pony ride and decorating the ponies with chalks and accessories!  This activity is suitable for children who have never ridden as well as children who can already ride.

Practical Pony Ownership + Riding

Wednesday 25 October: 2 pm – 4 pm | £45
3 sessions::

In this 2-hour activity, children will enjoy a practical hands-on session learning more about how to handle their pony, including tacking-up and untacking, how to lead safely and learning more about general pony care – all essential knowledge if children would like to eventually loan or own their own pony. These practical sessions build confidence and knowledge around horses and as we will be working in small groups of 4-6 children, they will be encouraged to get hands-on with close support from our team. During the session children will also receive a riding lesson appropriate to their RHEC level.

Prix Caprilli
Dressage with Jumps

Monday 23 October: 2 pm – 3.30 pm | L6 | £42

Riders will be working on Prix Caprilli in this session, warming up and practicing their tests (including jumps), followed by a competition with rosettes awarded.

Dressage with Jumps

Wednesday 25 October: 9.30 am – 11 am | L3 (Outdoor) | £42

In this session we will be practicing Prix Caprilli skills – focussing on accuracy, impulsion and transitions on the flat and over small jumps, with a competition and rosettes at the end.

Wednesday 25 October: 11 am – 12.30 pm | L4 – L5 | £42

Riders will be working on Prix Caprilli in this session, warming up and practicing their tests (including jumps), followed by a competition with rosettes awarded. 

Show Jumping
Pole Work Lesson

Wednesday 25 October: 10 am – 11 am | L3 (Indoor) | £40
Thursday 26 October: 10 am – 11 am | L3 (Indoor) | £40 

In these lessons we’ll be practicing the basics of jumping, working on steering, impulsion and accuracy over poles.

L3 (Outdoor) Show Jumping Lesson

Thursday 26 October: 10 am – 11 am | L3 (Outdoor) | £42 – NOW FULLY BOOKED

In this riding lesson our L3 (Outdoor) riders will be show jumping; practicing their approaches to jumps, with a focus on control, pace and accuracy.

Hacking:
Walk, Trot Hack

Thursday 26 October: 2 pm – 2.45 pm | Age 12 and over | L2 (Outdoor) – L6 | £35 (FULLY BOOKED)

We’ll be heading out for a 45-minute gentle hack (walk and trot only), exploring the local countryside and practicing the skills we have learned in the school. This hack is open to our regular riders who are aged 12 and over and graded L2 (Outdoor) – L6.

Walk, Trot, Canter Hack

Monday 23 October: 9.30 am – 10.30 am (FULLY BOOKED) |  Additional hack added: 10.30 am  – 11.30 am  | L4 – L5 | £40 (FULLY BOOKED)

Our L4-L5 riders can join us for an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and possibly canter (ground and weather permitting).  This hack is open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L4 – L5.

Thursday 26 October: 11 am – 12 pm | L6 | £40

Our L6 riders will be heading out on an hour’s hack which will include walk, trot and probably canter (ground and weather permitting). This hack is only open to riders who already have regular lessons with us and are graded L6.

Blue Activities are for current, graded clients only.  Yellow activities are open to all.

Important Information:

Please observe our Site Rules:

  • Please do not come onto site if you feel unwell.
  • Children should wear closed-toe shoes or boots as our stable yard has uneven and muddy surfaces
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your booking slot to enable hat fitting etc.
  • Please ensure pony tails are low (for hat fitting) and we would recommend earrings and jewellery are removed for safety
  • Children must wear trousers e.g. leggings, joggers or jodhpurs for comfort when riding.  Children wearing shorts or skirts will not be allowed to ride.
  • We have a strict 12 stone weight limit – please be aware of this if booking activities for older teens.
  • If the weather is likely to be wet, please bring a waterproof coat, gloves are also a good idea if it is cold.

How to book:

To book activities please use our online booking system EC Pro.  Please note that in order to use the system you first need to register your details. 
Here’s what you need to do:

1. Visit https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/

2. Register by completing your account details

3. Verify your email by clicking the automated link sent to you by email (check your spam if you don’t receive instantly)

4. Login with your email and password details

5. Add riders to your account by following the instructions to click on the link to rider registration

6. Rider Registration must be completed with up-to-date details of each rider (including height and weight) so we can provide the most suitable pony

7. Submit your rider registration details by clicking the submit button

8. You can add more riders under the same account if you need to.

Once you have registered you can then download the EC Pro app from your app store or access EC Pro via your web browser. Just search EC Pro and then log in with your email address and password.
You can find Holiday Activities in EC Pro under: book a lesson>group lesson> then look up the date the activity is on to view and book it. 

Cancellation:
We ask for 48 hours notice for a cancellation. Otherwise the full fee will be payable.
